it is so stinkin' hot. we've been hanging at the pool as much as we can. harper had some swim lessons...so we are trying to keep her working and going under. huck seems to like it as well. and really it is the only way to be outside these days. our sweet friends The Sarrett's let us come and crash their pool. sorry for my cheese ball smile on that first picture. i probably was having that much fun. harper is pretty fun these days...but gosh that smile is bad.

Cheddar Biscuits.
I made some Cheddar Biscuits the other night that were really good. I served them with a not so amazing Chicken crockpot recipe which isn't worth the post. ;-) But these are just my style...easy and not many ingredients. Enjoy!
2 cups Original Bisquick
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix Bisquick, milk, and cheese until a soft dough forms. Beat vigorously for 30 seconds. Drop dough by 10-12 spoonfuls about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Mix butter and garlic powder; brush on warm biscuits before removing from cookie sheet. Serve warm.
I brushed them twice ;-). I also dust them with a little bit of salt just because a little salt makes everything taste better.

Happy 5 Months!
People are right when they say the second one goes by much quicker then the first. I can't believe this little bean is already 5 months old. Huck...this is what you are up to at 5 months. You are trying really hard to roll from your back to your tummy. You are drooling and chewing a lot so I think a tooth is going to pop out at any moment. You are pretty happy as long as you are fed and aren't tired. And you LOVE your mommy. ;-)

fish tacos
we have been trying some new recipes in our house. i was in such a cooking rut. and i had a couple friends ask me what i make for dinners. i always do EASY. ALWAYS. and i normally look for a small number of ingredients. so cheap and easy. here are some fish tacos we just made.
FISH TACOS
2 Tilapia filets
taco seasoning
olive oil
1 lime
tortillas
condiments (whatever you like on your tacos): used avocado and cheese
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place fish on foil on a cookie sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with taco seasoning. Slice the lime and lay on the fish.
It should look like this:
Fold up foil to make a packet (Put each filet in it's own packet). Like so...
Bake for 20-25 minutes at 325 degrees. Here it is once it is baked.
Then serve. I will say that the avocado MADE it. It was so yummy.
EASY and yummy. happy cooking.

cutest thing going...
we pretty much think he is the cutest thing going these days. i can't believe he is almost 5 months old. wow! hopefully i won't jinx myself, but he may finally have gotten this 'put yourself to sleep' thing (one month later). he is gotten pretty playful. he is still a really good snuggler. and i think he is teething. we are just overflowing with love for this little one.
